On June 18, 1947, the late Dr. (Mrs.) Erin N. Nagarvala and the late Principal N. D. Nagarvala established the school in a residential mansion located at No. 4 Boat Club Road in Pune. Mr. and Mrs. Nagarvala came to understand that it is challenging for middle-class parents' kids, particularly those from rural Maharashtra, to attend an inexpensive residential school where they may receive a good education. They held the opinion that most middle-class parents raise intelligent kids who, given the correct circumstances, had the capacity to become excellent citizens and successful adults. The National Model School replaced the original name of the school, "The National Military School," when the Education Department advised against using the word "Military."The name was changed only when Dr. (Mrs.) Erin N. Nagarvala passed away unexpectedly, in memory of her love and commitment to the institution.
We strive for a cooperative environment at the Dr. (Mrs.) Erin N. Nagarvala School, respecting individual uniqueness, diversity, and community values.
