The Dubai Carmel School, was founded in 1990 by the Dr. Tarek Abu Younis and the visionary principle Mrs. Alia Mahmood Al Yahya. In its beginning stage, it was only a small school in two villas located at the Jumeirah near Safa Park and almost a decade later i.e. in 2001, in order to accommodate the growing number of students the school had to be relocated to a new space i.e. in Al Nahda. At present, the school is a family of 900 students and is still counting and has also welcomed with an open arms the students from the various nationalities irrespective of their race or color, the DCS students are trained to be a independent learners. The school not only believes in empowering their students to engage ethically but also, in educating the heart and the mind only then a child could be holistically developed and to learn to respect cultural diversities and global citizenship.
The school is proud to call themselves an inclusive school as the education imparted aims at promoting the growth and integration of all facets of the child’s personality, in an ambience of Arab culture, by providing quality education and opportunities for excellence to all. They are the advocates and followers of the principals and vision instilled in them by their forefathers and empowering their students with the values of peace, tolerance and acceptance where everyone learns to deal with sanity.
The school follows the British curriculum from the foundation stage until the sixth form and the curriculum taught here includes the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level and Advanced (A) Level and the age of the students enrolled in the school ranges from 4 to 18.

Achievements

The Dubai Carmel School, provides an acceptable quality of education. In both the primary and secondary phases, the attainment in key subjects, was good apart from in mathematics and science where it was acceptable. In both the primary and secondary phases, the progress was good in English and in Islamic Education progress was good in the primary phase. In all other subjects, progress was acceptable. In KG attainment and progress were acceptable in mathematics and science. In English, progress was good enabling children to reach an acceptable standard by the time they moved into Grade 1 etc.

The Dubai Carmel School, represented the UAE at the global competition, where a team of the students from the school has been announced by the British Council as a national winner of the Your World video competition 2021-2022, where the theme for the competition was Urban living: sustainable cities and communities which links directly into the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal no. 11. etc.
