Dubai International Academy, Al Barsha

The admission process of the Dubai International Academy, Al Barsha, begins in September but the applications are accepted throughout the year provided that the enough seats are available and if in case there are no spots available, then the applicants are placed on the waiting list.
To kick-start with the admission process, the students those who are interested can submit the online application form which is available on the school website. At the time of the admission, it is important to submit all the mandatory documents. After the submission of the application form and the mandatory documents, the candidate's previous reports are evaluated by the school and after that, the school contacts the applicant to schedule an on-site or online assessment if in case the student is eligible.
To secure a place at the school, it is necessary for all the applicants to successfully clear the assessment test. For the KG and Grade 1 students, the general assessment includes English, Mathematics and non-verbal clues. Whereas, the students are evaluated based on the CAT4 online test for the Grade 2 and above. The students based in Dubai can visit the school campus for assessment while for those applicants based outside the UAE, for them the admissions team will arrange the test and to both i.e. the on-site and online assessments arranged for the overseas students, the assessment fee applies. Also, if required a face-to-face interview is arranged.
The assessment fee is 500 AED and is non-refundable. However, if the student gets admission in the school, then in that case this fee is adjusted in the first-semester fee. The Pre-Kindergarten candidates are not formally assessed and from Sunday to Thursday, in the school premises during the school hours, all the assessment tests take place.
A confirmation message is sent by the admission department if the candidate clears the assessment and to which the parents should respond to this letter within the five working days. However a delay in the response will place the application in the “accepted on hold” category and the students will have to reappear for the assessment when a seat is available.
To proceed with the admission process, the following documents are required as mentioned below.

PS: a. Copy of the valid UAE residence visa.

b. Copy of the student’s passport.

c. Copy of the Birth Certificate in English or Arabic.

d. The latest copy of Immunization record.

e. Two passport size photographs.

f. Copy of the previous two years report card.

g. Copy of the attested Transfer Letter is required if the applicant is transferring from overseas or other Emirates.

h. Attested KHDA transfer certificate from the previous school.
i. Confidential school report filed by the teacher.

And to further facilitate the admission process, following service standards are followed as mentioned below.

PS: a. Within one to two working days, the school responds to the application.
b. Within three working days, the school sends test results.
c. The outcome is communicated to parents within five working days (from the test date).

Note: The decision made by the school is final and also follows all the guidelines set by the KHDA. Following the policy of Federal Law 29 (2006), admission is also given to the students with special needs. The school's counselor/ special education needs coordinator assess the applications made by the SEND students and is also reviewed by the head of Section/principal, checking that if the school is adequately equipped to meet the needs of the students.
