  • HOW TO APPLY
  • The Dundalk Grammar School have tried to make their application process as straightforward as possible.
  • In exploring the possibility of a place for your child if you are interested, at an early opportunity please contact the school and request an application form. To the school when you return the completed form, to the school correspondence list they will add your child's name for the appropriate year of entry. In writing receipt of your application they will also acknowledge.
  • Prior to entry in the September of the academic year, to attend the Open Day in October they will write and invite you. Having confirmed that you wish to proceed with your application, a November meeting with you and your son or daughter they will then arrange. The offer of a place for the following September may be confirmed, following this meeting and review of the necessary documentation (school reports, references etc.). Upon satisfying the admissions criteria as laid down in the school’s Admissions Policy any offer is dependent. To confirm your acceptance in writing you will be asked and to submit the appropriate acceptance fee.
  • To visit the school as often as possible prior to entry they would encourage you and your child. For Boarding students this is particularly important who are invited to tour the Boarding House and from Monday to Friday see what will be their new home away from home. To host a visit from a new family the Headmaster and the Head of Boarding are always pleased and to meet some of their existing boarding students and to try the food in the Boarding Canteen provide them with an opportunity – a very important dimension to boarding life!
  • Where within 12 months of the proposed date of entry an application is received, from that outlined above the procedure will vary. It should also be noted that the information is subject to change and to confirm all details with the school admissions secretary it is advisable.
