School History & Details

Over a decade, from 2000 to 2010, the journey to establish the Academy encountered numerous challenges, including local opposition to the proposed Ping Shan building location and a project suspension by the Education Bureau due to declining birth rates. Undeterred by setbacks, our unwavering commitment to creating an innovative school persisted. In 2008, the Legislative Council approved the School Development Project, securing around HK$280 million for the construction of the school premises, which became operational in 2010. Through the dedicated efforts of the team and the steadfast support of the community, the Academy achieved a significant milestone in 2014 with the approval to offer the IB Diploma Programme, followed by the authorization for the Primary Years Programme in 2018 and the Middle Years Programme in 2019. This accomplishment made us the pioneering and sole Direct Subsidy Scheme through-train school in the Northwestern New Territories of Hong Kong, showcasing the resilience and determination that defined our journey.
