At the GEMS American Academy Qatar the admission process consist of the following four steps as mentioned below:

Student Registration Procedure

Step 1 - To begin with the application process, you must submit an application and register online using the GEMS Online Student Registration link.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee your child a place.

Step 2 - Once the online application have been completed, the email address you provided, in that an acknowledgement email will be sent, that not only contains your application number which you should be careful to retain as it will be your file reference for all further communication with the school but also contains a link to complete your application and upload the required documents. To move on to Step 3 the only documents required are the recent school reports (not needed for Pre-K, KG1 or KG2), passport copies, and/or QID copies but please upload any of the other documents that you have immediately.

Step 3 - By the school you will be contacted to arrange an interview and/or admissions test for your child.

Step 4 - In our school if we are able to offer your child a place, then we will contact you to make the non-refundable reservation fee payment that will secure your child’s seat.

Supporting Documents

During the registration process the following documents will be requested:

a. Applicant QID.

b. Parent (Sponsor) QID.

c. Applicant recent school/nursery report.

d. Applicant Passport.

e. Parent (Sponsor) Passport.

f. Applicant Photo.

* At the application processing time the Qatar ID is not needed, but before attending the school will be needed. To officially start school all the students need a valid Qatar ID.

Please ensure that during the registration process all the relevant information regarding your child is up-to-date:

a. Information regarding allergies, special medications, etc.

b. Current contact details and emergency telephone numbers for both parents.

c. Please check that your child has received all necessary vaccinations; consult your physician, if in doubt.

Entry Criteria and Assessment Tests

On an admission policy the GEMS American Academy Qatar prides itself that does not discriminate against any child or family. To apply to GAAQ all children are welcome, regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion.
Currently, for children with special learning needs the GEMS American Academy has limited spaces.
Assessment test is conducted from Pre-K to Grade 12, where the students are required to take an entrance assessment before a placement can be offered.
Typically, within 48 hours of passing the entrance assessment the students will be offered a place. To the parents the offer letter is sent by email and will include detailed information on how to accept the offer and pay entry fees.
