 The HWDSB Audition-Based Program of the Arts and Strings Program are located in Glendale Secondary School. These two extremely successful program draw students from all across the Hamilton region and beyond to register in them. Some of the interesting programs include: Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) in Transportation, Non-Profit, Business and Arts & Culture,  programming for students with Autism. The Glendale Secondary School offers an annual Special Olympics competition in addition to numerous programmes and courses offered throughout Glendale.

The success rate for Glendale Secondary School alumni who continued their athletic careers after graduating from high school is likewise very high. Goalkeeper Milan Borjan of Canada and a previous Glendale bear were admitted into the hall of fame in March 2023.
