Godolphin and Latymer School has 800 females between the age group of 11 and 18 who attend the day school The Godolphin School, a boys' boarding school located in grounds close to the River Thames in Hammersmith, was where it all started in 1861. The primary structures of the school are from this era. However, because the boys' school did not succeed, a second independent day school for females was established on the same location in 1905. The Godolphin and Latymer School was given a new name thanks to funding from the Latymer foundation. Godolphin and Latymer was chosen by Dame Joyce Bishop to become a state grammar school after the Second World War and the groundbreaking Education Act of 1944. As a result, giving places to intelligent girls was free. Many London schools lost their status as grammar schools in 1977, and Godolphin and Latymer switched back to the independent sector. The number of students has increased, educational outlooks have undergone significant modernization, and Hammersmith site has seen creative expansion in recent years.
A rich legacy and ethics help to define the personality and heart of Godolphin and Latymer, a contemporary and forward-thinking school.
