GSD International School Buitrago

Cooperativa Gredos San Diego was established in 1985 by 18 founding members (teachers and other staff) who took over the school after its owner, Julio López Herrero, retired. Colegio Centro Cultural Gredos emerged from GSD Cooperativa, which dates back 50 years to when its founder broke ground for the new offices on Avenida de San Diego, hence the name. GSD is an intrinsic part of the history of the lowly neighborhood where it was first established in the heart of Vallecas, Madrid, because of its strong presence and liberal and modern approach to life. Several well-known figures from the cultural and sporting sectors have passed through its halls. In 2013, GSD International School Buitrago joined the GSD Community. Aside from providing primary and secondary education and vocational training, the aforesaid center is a melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, and languages spoken. It is truly an international experience, with ELE (Spanish as a Second Language) in a variety of programs ranging from short visits to summer camps for students from all over the world, as well as teacher training in the arts and sports, among other things.
