Handsworth Secondary School is a beloved institution in the local community. It has been in operation for more than 60 years and is known for its excellence in teaching and community involvement. In 1961, Handsworth opened its doors as a small school, offering classes for Grades 8-12. The school gradually grew to become a larger institution. Since then, the school has become one of the best secondary schools in the city. The school itself is known for its commitment to quality education. Handsworth offers a comprehensive curriculum with a wide variety of classes to cater to all students. There is an emphasis on outdoor activities and physical fitness and a strong emphasis on community involvement and service. After 57 years the school moved to a new building, which began functioning in February 2022.
