Heathfield School originated from Wolverley Grammar School, established in 1620 by William Sebright. In 1931, the school was renamed to Sebright School and relocated to a new building on a fresh land plot. This site was inaugurated by Stanley Baldwin, the local MP at the time, who soon became the prime minister. Due to financial struggles, the school was forced to shut down in 1970 and its primary building became a state school, currently known as Wolverley C E Secondary School. However, its junior section that had started in 1961 remained operational and has expanded its age group back to 18. Presently, Heathfield has an international branch in Bangkok, Thailand, which was formerly Lord Shaftesbury School and is now named Heathfield International School. In January 2017, Heathfield School and the Knoll School consolidated to form the present Heathfield Knoll School and First Steps Day Nursery.
