The Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) is a Swiss boarding school and sports academy founded in 1793. It's located in the Swiss Alps and offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. HIF has a strong local identity and is attended by students from Switzerland, the Lower Engadine region, and around the world.

The HIF Swiss International School and Sports Academy is an open-hearted campus community where from around the world young people can thrive in the sublime, health-giving environment of the Swiss Alps. It is a co-educational secondary school that for students in school years/grades 7 to 12  offers a range of educational programs. The Canton of Graubünden is accredited to prepare and examine students for the Swiss Matura and by Cambridge Assessment as a center for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). HIF proudly holds the IB World School status and is offering the IB Diploma program.

HIF's mission is to foster a student-centered school culture and caring relationships between educators and learners. It offers high standards of teaching and learning and supports the discovery and development of individual talent and achievement, etc.

In the Swiss Matura program, HIF has a strong track record, a 98% pass rate with a majority of their students continuing to renowned Swiss universities like the University of St. Gallen (HSG), University of Zurich, EPF Lausanne, ETH Zurich, University of Geneva or Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). In Germany, the US and Great Britain some of their students have chosen universities abroad, but in Switzerland, the vast majority take up their higher studies. Their alumni are engineers, university professors, teachers, diplomats, lawyers, musicians, professional athletes, physiotherapists, writers, and many more, in their professional lives all very successful and established, etc & other academic achievements if any.

The HIF non-academic achievements, include:- 1. Being a training site of the Grison Ski Nordic and Snowboard Association. 2. Being an acclaimed regional performance center of the Swiss Ski Association for alpine skiing. 3.
