The Embassy of India School, presently known as the International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), was established in 1969. The school was founded as a villa school with a small student body, faculty, and infrastructure. The school's founding goal was to give Indian nationals living in Jeddah's neighborhoods access to a high-quality education. The KSA Ministry of Education and the Indian government gave their approval for the establishment of the school as a not-for-profit institution.
