In 1996, a group of progressive and creative minds came up with the concept to start Bremen's International School. The Education Authority, the Chamber of Commerce, businesses with an international focus, the Economic Development Agency, and concerned parents were among the members of the committee that was formed at that time. Then, on September 4, 1998, 20 years ago, this goal came to life and the International School of Bremen opened in Bremen's Thomas-Mann Straße. From then on, the school continued to develop, year after year, despite the initial projections that it would enroll 40 to 60 children. August 2011 saw the realization of the dream! In less than a year, the new ISB building was completed and opened. From those three children in 1998, whose parents believed in and saw the promise of an international school, ISB has grown into a dynamic learning community.
Respect, Honesty, and Kindness are the three basic values upheld by the school, and they guide all interactions to the point where they permeate every part of the institution.
