Jamea Al Kauthar, a girls-only educational institution adhering to the Muslim tradition, is based in Lancaster, Lancashire, England in the former premises of the Royal Albert Asylum. It was established in 1996 with a small student body of 60 and has since expanded its capacity to accommodate up to 450 students. The school took over and transformed the historical building of the Royal Albert Hospital in 1996, with generous moral and financial contributions from several community members.
