On January 2, 2001, Jurong West Secondary School (JWSS) opened its doors on Jalan Boon Lay. The school relocated to its current 3.1-hectare location on March 18, 2002. The facility has computer and scientific labs as well as dedicated spaces for art, music, and dance. The sporting facilities included a hockey astroturf, an indoor sports complex that was opened in 2009, and a school field with artificial turf. To foster the love of learning and improve student wellbeing, additional infrastructure upgrades from 2015 to 2019 saw the development of The Book Room, The Learning Hive, The Loft, and other learning spaces.
The school fosters an atmosphere where students can be bold, inquisitive, and interested in learning while still upholding the school's core principles of loyalty, industry, sincerity, and love.
