Hong Kah Secondary School and Jurongville Secondary School amalgamated in 2019. The Ministry of Education informed the two institutions of the merger decision and its purpose in April 2017. Following the decision's disclosure to all participants, including parents, staff, and students, both schools worked together to ensure a smooth transition when classes resumed in January 2019. Both of the member schools' histories have many similarities. In 1994, Secondary One pupils were initially admitted to Jurongville Secondary and Hong Kah Secondary. Both schools, which were next to one another along Jurong East Avenue 1, provided dependable and excellent service to Jurong locals for a quarter of a century. It's interesting to note that the name 'Hong Kah' may be traced back to a village in Jurong before it became industrialized. That community was frequently referred to as "Hong Kah Choon," which translates to "Christian Village," in the Teochew dialect of China. The amalgamated school will be called Jurongville Secondary School in English and in Chinese to represent the shared heritage, MOE decided. There were numerous exceptional principals at both institutions. Mdm. Sun Huey Min served as Jurongville Secondary's first principal. From 1994 to 1995, Mdm. Sun was the school's principal. Mrs. Yeo Chin Nam served as Hong Kah Secondary's first principal. From 1994 to 1997, Mrs. Yeo worked at the school.
