School History & Details

Situated close to Castletown on the Isle of Man, King William's College is an independent school catering to students from 3 to 18 years old. It is a part of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference and International Baccalaureate organisations. The Bishop Barrow Trust, which was first established in 1668 to support education on the Isle of Man, provided the majority of the funding for the College's construction. There were just 46 boys enrolled at the College when it was first established in 1833. King William IV, who allegedly provided the founders a financial gift when asked, is honoured by the school's name.
