School History & Details

In 1975, Kinross School Council took on the responsibilities of Wolaroi College, leading to the merger of the two schools into Kinross Wolaroi School. Following the establishment of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977, the school became affiliated with the Church. Initially facing challenges, the school began to thrive in the region, entering a period of development spearheaded by its second Headmaster, Mr. Alan Anderson. Wolaroi Mansion, as seen in the early 2000s, witnessed a phase of significant expansion. The school adopted an aggressive marketing approach in Western NSW, aiming to increase the number of regional boarders. Following this expansion, the school focused on consolidating its growth, which included enhancing and maintaining its facilities and infrastructure. Students enjoyed a wide array of programs, encompassing drama, music, cadets, sports, and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. By 1988, Kinross Wolaroi School had evolved into the largest co-educational boarding school in New South Wales, hosting 728 students, including 384 boarders.
