The American School of Kuwait (ASK) was founded in 1964 by a group of American parents who wanted to provide their children with an American-style education. The school was originally located in the Dasman area of Kuwait City, but it moved to its current location in Hawalli in 1994.

ASK is a private, coeducational school that offers a college-preparatory curriculum to students from kindergarten through grade 12. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Council of International Schools.

ASK has a diverse student body, with students from over 50 countries. The school's faculty is also diverse, with teachers from all over the world. This diversity of experience and perspective enriches the educational experience for all students at ASK.
