A grammar school for boys aged 11 to 18 located in Lancaster, Lancashire, England is called Lancaster Royal Grammar School (LRGS). John Gardyner later formed the school as a free institution after it was established between 1235 and 1256, most likely closer to the former.

Renowned for its exceptional academic performance, Lancaster Royal Grammar School produces exceptional exam scores (48 percent of students receive A*/A grades at the A-level in 2023 and 41 percent receive 9/8 grades at the GCSE in 2022). The school is also well-known for its strong athletic performance. In 2023, twelve students received offers of admission to the universities of Cambridge and Oxford.

The school has turned out a number of well-known rugby union players, including former Bath and England coach Brian Ashton, former Norway captain Erik Lund, and England international Magnus Lund.
