Laurel Heights Secondary School is based at Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The school is specifically a secondary school that comprises of Grade 9 to Grade 12. The school was established in the year 2004 and was named Sir. John A. Macdonald Secondary School. Both academic and vocational programmes are offered; it debuted in September 2004. The name of Laurel Heights Secondary School was officially changed in March 2022 after the school board decided that it needed to be changed in 2021. The school is considered to be one of the largest secondary school in Waterloo city.

The Laurel Heights Secondary School is considered to be one of the largest secondary school in Waterloo city. The school is famous for its Jazz Program. The Junior Band & Brass Quartet both won gold at Kiwanis, while the Senior Band took home a platinum prize. With an average performance score of 8.1 out of 10, the Fraser Institute ranks Laurel Heights Secondary School as one of the top schools in Ontario as of 2019.

Non-Academic Achievements

Laurel Heights Secondary School football teams both in junior and senior category are well known champions. It is also known for its rugby prowess, with the Bantam, Junior, and Senior teams having won the WCSSAA more than ten times in total. With student Anna Larsson winning gold and silver in the pole vault as well as John Fish winning bronze in the 400 metre, track and field has had great success at OFSAA.
