In Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales, there is a coeducational independent boarding and day school that is known for its exceptional educational programes is Llandovery College. The prep school, senior school, and sixth form make up the college. It has also been known by the names "Collegiate Institute" and "Welsh College, Llandovery" at various points in its history. Thomas Phillips established Llandovery College in 1847. On St. David's Day 1848, a small group of boys attended the school's inaugural session. The current structure's foundation stone was laid on December 13th, 1849. In the late 1960s, the first girls were allowed admission.

The National Urdd Eisteddfod, the largest youth festival in Europe, will be held at Llandovery for the first time in history in May 2023. To assist the upcoming potential, Llandovery College is excited to announce a new partnership with Cardiff Rugby. The growth of athletes and their academic success are combined in this new cooperation between two of Wales' top rugby institutions.
