One of the top co-educational boarding and day schools in Britain was founded in 1827 and is called Loretto School. Just outside of Edinburgh, on an 85-acre campus that is secure and lush, Loretto School is home to the best golf academy in the business. Initially admitting solely males, the school welcomed girls into the sixth form in 1981 and the third form in 1995, making it completely co-ed by 1995.
