Mansfield Steiner School was founded in Maindample through the efforts of two local secondary educators who sought an alternative educational experience for their children. The land was acquired in Maindample, strategically located equidistant from their residences. The mudbrick structure was constructed with care by parents and teachers during their available leisure time. The school commenced operations in February 1986 and experienced steady growth over the subsequent decade. It was later determined that relocating the school to the larger town of Mansfield would enhance accessibility for a greater number of students. Consequently, the school was moved to its current location in May 1996. Since its inception in 1986, Mansfield Steiner School has played a vital role in the educational framework of Mansfield and its surrounding areas. The institution currently provides a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum that is ACARA approved, catering to students from preschool through Year 10, while offering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for Years 11 and 12. With over a century of experience, Steiner/Waldorf schools worldwide have been dedicated to educating students, employing the Steiner method, which encompasses a holistic program of academic and artistic subjects designed to foster both creative and critical thinking skills in each student. Beyond academics, Steiner students are instilled with a sense of reverence for the world and a profound respect for life.
