Application Requirements

At Matipo Road School welcome to the first stage of enrolling.
Based on the following information being provided this is a provisional enrolment form.

  • 1. For your child a copy of the eligibility document.
  • This can be either:
  • a. NZ birth certificate or NZ passport (if NZ citizen).
  • b. Australian passport (if Australian citizen) or
  • c. NZ residency permit or NZ student visa/permit and Parental work permit (if the child is not a NZ citizen).
  • 2. Proof of your address (if in zone e.g., utilities bill, rental/sales agreement).
  • 3. Immunization certificate.
  • 4. A copy of any Court Order Documents (if applicable).
  • ENROLMENT SCHEME
  • Home Zone
  • Of the Matipo Primary home zone a list of addresses is attached. in the home zone all students living are entitled to enrol at the school at any time. Within the zone proof of residence will be required.
  • Out of Zone Enrolment
  • In the following order of priority the applications for enrolment will be processed:
  • Priority One:
  • At Matipo Primary this priority category is not applicable because approved by the Secretary the school does not run a special program.
  • Priority Two:
  • To applicants who are siblings of current students must be given.
  • Priority Three:
  • To applicants who are siblings of former students must be given.
  • Priority Four:
  • To any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school must be given.
  • Priority Five:
  • To any applicant it must be given who is either a child of a member of the board of the school or a child of an employee of the board of the school.
  • Priority Six:
  • Must be given to all other applicants.
  • In the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups if there are more applicants than there are places available, by a ballot the selection within the priority group will be in accordance with instructions conducted issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. By notice the parents will be informed of the date of any ballot in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
