The governors of Queen Mary's Schools purchased Mayfield House on Sutton Road in 1924, and it was converted into a mixed kindergarten and a prep school for the girls' high school. The house housed the junior section of the high school for twenty years. Mayfield was converted to an Independent Preparatory School following the 1944 Education Act.
The family-friendly, joyful environment of Mayfield Preparatory School incorporates the fundamental ideals of courtesy and respect. The school is built on Christian values, even as they honour the faiths of everyone in their community.
