A member of the London Haberdashers' Company named William Jones created the Monmouth School for Boys in 1614. The school is proud of the continuous history and Christian tradition as they currently prepare their students for the opportunities of the 21st Century. Their growth has been supported by William Jones' generous legacy, which also allows us them maintain incredibly low fees. Although the school have a long history of success, they are not constrained by it. Instead, it gives the school the assurance to handle the difficulties that all schools today encounter. The teachers and students that a school draws are undoubtedly its greatest assets. The school is blessed in both areas, and it is an honour to work with a group of committed teachers whose passion is consistently sparked by the young men they teach. Great things have been accomplished in the past and will continue to be accomplished in the future in the classroom, on the sports field, in the theatre, and in the concert hall thanks to the dynamic blend of youthful enthusiasm, ability, and experience.
Monmouth has a strong boarding community that significantly contributes to the tone and spirit of the busy and dynamic school. The school imparts certain values that are followed from generations to generations. The core values of the school are:
Commitment
Respect
Empathy
Community
Honesty
Determination
