The Mt Carmel School was established in 1952 and is an integrated Catholic school for boys and girls from Year 0 to Year 6.
The school was founded by the Carmelite Fathers with the patron saint being Our Lady of Mt Carmel.
The school roll is approximately 300 pupils and they have 12 classrooms. In a quiet cul-de-sac off Meadowbank Road in Auckland, the Mt Carmel is located.
They enjoy modern classrooms, a large playing field, and excellent resources.
Their professional teachers and support staff are experienced, hard-working, and committed to providing the very best for the students in their care.
A strong community involvement and support the school has.
To 'Catholic Preference' candidates the Priority of Enrolment is offered although for a percentage of the roll to be made up of 'Non Catholic Preference' students there is provision. The majority of their students continue to Baradene College (girls) and Sacred Heart (boys).
The NZ Curriculum Values will be encouraged, modeled, and explored:
1. Excellence.
2. Innovation, inquiry, and curiosity.
3. Diversity.
4. Equity.
5. Community and participation.
6. Ecological sustainability.
7. Integrity.
8. Respect.
