In 1958, MBIS opened. Since then, the school has had nine principals: Alan Baildon in 1958, Jack Green in 1965, Alan Fisher in 1974, Gordon McGhie in 1975, Ray Malcolm in 1986, Blair Manners in 1988, Fay Mason in 1990, Colin Dale in 2003, and Melinda Bennett in 2017, who is currently the principal.
MBIS is a proponent of human empowerment. We think that a person can learn holistically, which will result in the formation of well-rounded future citizens who will be able to engage with their community and society in the years to come.
