The first school in Oman to introduce the IGCSE and A-level curricula was Muscat International School, which was established in 1989 and is conveniently located in Qurum. MIS is a private, co-educational day school that holds a license from the Omani Ministry of Education to teach children of all nationalities in the KG to Grade 12 age range the English national curriculum in addition to Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Social Studies from the Omani curriculum.
