The Philippine Department of Education and the UAE Ministry of Education have granted The New Filipino Private School (NFPS) a license to operate in the United Arab Emirates utilizing the Filipino curriculum. It was started by Mrs. Myrtle Fernandez, Mrs. Zenaida Dizon, and Miss Aghsan Mousa. They received assistance from Mrs. Anna Castillo, the school registrar at the time, as well as from Mrs. Luzviminda Corpuz and Mrs. Lolita Irong, two accomplished educators.
On September 14, 1996, the NFPS successfully began its first year of operation. It was initially staffed by 21 highly skilled instructors with extensive expertise who had been carefully chosen from among private and public schools in Manila. In the second year of the school's existence, the three buildings were increased to four due to the rise in enrollment. The NFPS is easily accessible to all Filipino communities because it is located in the center of Sharjah.
The New Filipino Private School's goal is to offer the children of the Filipino community an inexpensive, pertinent, and high-quality education. The integration of values into the cognitive and content areas is covered in its curriculum. The development of its students' character is given the same consideration as the improvement of their intellectual abilities.
