School History & Details

The Philippine Department of Education and the UAE Ministry of Education have granted The New Filipino Private School (NFPS) a license to operate in the United Arab Emirates utilizing the Filipino curriculum. It was started by Mrs. Myrtle Fernandez, Mrs. Zenaida Dizon, and Miss Aghsan Mousa. They received assistance from Mrs. Anna Castillo, the school registrar at the time, as well as from Mrs. Luzviminda Corpuz and Mrs. Lolita Irong, two accomplished educators.

On September 14, 1996, the NFPS successfully began its first year of operation. It was initially staffed by 21 highly skilled instructors with extensive expertise who had been carefully chosen from among private and public schools in Manila. In the second year of the school's existence, the three buildings were increased to four due to the rise in enrollment. The NFPS is easily accessible to all Filipino communities because it is located in the center of Sharjah.
