Founded by Dr. M.K. Kamaluddin, NIMS was inaugurated on May 1, 1980 by the then Deputy Minister of Education, Govt. of UAE. The school has been educating children for the Kerala Board SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations since its inception and in 1993 it began teaching the higher secondary syllabus of the same board. CBSE curriculum began to be taught at the school in 1987.
