The NIST International School Admission Process:-

After the parents submit the pre-application, the admissions process the following four steps will conclude and those steps are as mentioned below:

• Step 1 - Contact by the Admissions Team
• The pre-application/application school's Admissions team will review to see whether they can accommodate your child(ren), depending on their current space situation and will get in touch with the parents shortly. Once they are able to move forward, they will inform the parents about the next step, which will include the following documents to submit (as a current or returning family if you have not already done so):
• a. School reports.
• b. Recommendation forms.
• c. Medical form.
• d. Passport scans and birth certificate.
• e. Legal documents (if applicable).
• f. Other supporting documents. (if applicable; e.g., IEP, educational psychological report, etc.).
• Step 2 - Application Review by Admissions Committee
• In accordance with the school’s admissions criteria the Admissions committee will review all complete applications and see whether or not they are able to cater for the year level. Depending on the time of year the parents apply, the length of this process varies. About each applicant the factors taken into account include:
• a. Age.
• b. Class size/space availability.
• c. English language proficiency.
• d. Previous school records and recommendation(s).
• d. Siblings currently at NIST and alumni siblings.
• e. IB program experience.
• f. Nationality.
• g. Language selection.
• h. Admissions test/academic ability.
• i. Extra-curricular/community involvement.
• Step 3 - Admissions Assessment
• After completing the above steps, to sit for an admissions assessment the candidates will be invited. In some cases, for an interview and assessment the children may be invited in order to help to determine their educational abilities and possible needs such as English as an additional language (EAL) assistance or other specialized support. At the NIST campus the Elementary school assessments take place or, via zoom, in certain circumstances if the applicant is not in Bangkok. On the NIST campus the Secondary school assessments will occur or in certain circumstances, for the secondary school assessment the Admissions team can arrange to be taken at the applicant’s current school if they are abroad. The assessment fee of 2,500 baht, all candidates must pay, which regardless of entry to the school is non-refundable. The admissions committee will make a final decision after reviewing the assessment results, school records and recommendations, that at NIST whether or not the child may be enrolled etc.
• Step 4 - Enrollment
• Of the admissions decision the families will be notified as soon as possible. The actual enrollment takes place after this notification and the submission of all documents requested by the school. Once a place has been offered, specified by the school, the family has a limited period, in which with the NIST Conditions of Acceptance to accept it in line. Certain fees are payable at the time of acceptance to the school. By the Admissions team this will be explained in further detail etc.
