School History & Details

The Northcote Primary School (NPS) was established in 1918. In 2018 they opened a new two-level classroom block, a new admin building, and office space, and they also celebrated their centenary. Since then they have been making steady progress to refurbish and upgrade the remaining buildings that range in age from 1926 to 2018!

NPS has a very dedicated staff who show a real commitment to their work and their NPS children. An inquiry learning approach the school uses provides real-life learning opportunities. The number one priority is that all their staff and children are happy and enjoy coming to school each day. The learning journey can be pretty challenging without that.

A hardworking and skillful Board, they are well supported and provide governance and support for them all. NPS parent PTA, Friends of Northcote School (FONS), by developing a community focus, provides a huge amount of support that includes family activities and funding / promoting projects. Some pretty fun activities there are that are organized by this hard-working team for children and adults! The NPS has a heated indoor pool, extensive grounds, Tiger Turf playing surfaces/structures, and trees that to the daily life at school all add. Of their wider school community, a lot of this is down to the support.
