Northcross Intermediate is a state coeducational intermediate school situated in the Northcross area on Auckland's North Shore. The year group consists of years 7 and 8 (ages 10 to 13). The school had 1336 pupils as of April 2023. Jonathan Tredray is the current school principal. The school's mission is to "provide a dynamic and student-centered learning environment in these very important years of an adolescent's growth and development." They offer a variety of extracurricular activities, the most of which are sports-related. Northcross Intermediate School was officially founded on February 1, 1970. The school is located in Northcross, a suburb on Auckland's North Shore. Sherwood School, the neighboring primary school (years 1–6) located directly next to Northcross Intermediate, opened in 1976, six years after the latter. Northcross and Sherwood Primary share the same pitch.

Millie Middleton competed in the New Zealand Short Championships over the term 3 holidays. Ake Kim of Room 6 has mastered the art of kendo. Ella Price of Room 52 won the Auckland Primary and Intermediate School's Rhythmic Gymnastics competition in early June. Shyla Webster was picked last year to represent New Zealand and her club at the 2019 Global Cheer and Dance Games in Hawaii.
