Beginning in 1983, the establishment of the school was a significant achievement realized by the leaders of the Oakleigh Greek Orthodox Community, alongside the late Reverend Father Nicholas Moutafis. The primary aim was to address the educational needs of families of Greek descent residing in the South-Eastern suburbs. Additionally, the school offered an alternative educational option for members of the broader community who were interested in a curriculum that uniquely combined Hellenic culture with Christian values in the learning process. Thus, Oakleigh Grammar, previously known as Oakleigh Greek Orthodox College, was founded. Over the years, Oakleigh Grammar has consistently adapted to reflect the evolving demographics of its surrounding areas, embracing and celebrating multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusion.
