The LEA provides funding for school costs, and students only have to pay boarding fees at this one of the 36 state boarding schools in England. The sixth form accepts day students only. In 2021, females will be allowed in starting with year 7. In the latter part of the summer of 1667, Old Swinford Hospital opened. Founded by Thomas Foley, it was once known as Stourbridge Hospital.
