Oundle School

1. Application requirements for 11+ entry are as follows: 

The 11+ Entrance Examination includes questions in maths, science, english and a cognitive ability test for kids.  Candidates who take the Oundle exams receive an informal interview and spend the night in our junior boarding house. The same entrance requirements and entrance exams are taken by all international applicants as well as UK applicants. Those who aren't taking the test at Oundle School should plan to take it elsewhere at a British Council office is located.

2. For 13+ entry application requirements are as follows:

Candidates who attend a UK school that does not offer the Common Entrance will take our own entrance exams, the Oundle Entrance, in January of Year 8. This includes an informal interview, a cognitive ability test, and essays in science, math, English, and typically a modern foreign language. The Oundle Entrance, which includes the identical entrance exams as those taken by UK students, will be taken by all international applicants in January of Year 8. We kindly request that all applicants who are not taking exams at Oundle School take them at a British Council office.

3. For 16+ entry application requirements are as follows:

After registering, we will get in touch with applicants in September or October 2023 to provide information on the shortlisting procedure.  This typically comprises a CV, an indication of their anticipated GCSE scores, and a brief handwritten essay expressing their motivations for attending Oundle. Based on this data, candidates will be screened, and those who are chosen will receive invitations to take tests in November 2023.
