School History & Details

Pakuranga College is a co-educational secondary school in New Zealand's east Auckland. The institution is named for the Pakuranga neighborhood in which it is located. The Pegasus is the school's emblem, and the motto is "Caelum Certe Patet." The school was constructed on a portion of a historic dairy farm notorious for its marshy soil in the winter. Ronald Algie established the school on October 7, 1961. Kenneth Rae was the founding principal, with an initial enrollment of 312 students and 17 staff members.
