Papakura High School (PHS) is a co-educational public secondary school in the Auckland suburb of Papakura, New Zealand, that serves students in Years 9 through 13. The school was founded in 1954 and presently has a varied student body that administers students from the larger southern Auckland area. The school is situated on the southern outskirts of Auckland, roughly 32 kilometers south of the Auckland CBD. A school enrollment zone covering the Papakura, Clevedon, and Hunua communities was established in 2021. You can't help but be struck by the school's lovely physical surroundings when you visit. A wonderful avenue of mature oak trees leads up to the front of the school, providing a pleasant road or walkway. As you approach the administrative building, you will notice the school's stunning wharenui, Kahurangi, with its exquisite carvings on both the exterior and interior of the building, as well as both traditional and modern carvings, beautiful tukutuku panels and rich kowhaiwhai patterns on the rafters. In 2019, the wharenui underwent substantial renovations and is now adorned in modern colors. Passers-by can see the school's majestic Fale Pasifika on the opposite side of the driveway, which was built in 2019 as a gift to the school from a charitable foundation.
