One of the oldest and most prestigious institutions for females in Australia is Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (PLC Sydney). It was the first school founded by the Presbyterian Church in New South Wales, having opened its doors in 1888. The College relocated to Croydon, where it now stands. Shubra Hall, constructed in 1869 by Anthony Hordern III (of the department store dynasty), and a second building constructed in 1890 that housed classrooms, dormitories, a dining room, and an assembly hall were the principal facilities. Architect Albert Bond has been credited with designing "Shubra Hall."
PLC Sydney goal is to create an atmosphere where our students can mature into young ladies with integrity and purpose, who genuinely care about the well-being of others and aspire to contribute positively to society. The values that they inculcate in the students are as follows:
Grace
Reverence
Wisdom
