Queensway Secondary School (QSS) is a government co-educational secondary school in Queenstown, Singapore. It provides a four to five-year program that prepares students for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level or Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examinations. Lim Teck Hin, Member of Parliament for Tiong Bahru, officially launched QSS on September 2, 1961. It was the first school to construct a badminton hall. The expansion of the school coincided with the expansion of Queenstown. The school had 36 courses and 50 professors by 1963. It was then converted into a two-session school. To accommodate the additional enrollment, two new classroom buildings were constructed in 1975. A Science Laboratory, a Home Economics Room, AVA and Music rooms, and an expanded canteen were also created. Queensway took students from the defunct Mei Chin Secondary School in 2000 and amalgamated with Buona Vista Secondary School in January 2001. Since then, the school has been rebuilt, with the new campus opening in December 2001 on the same historical site. The new Indoor Sports Hall and Atrium were finished in July 2009 and officially opened on April 15, 2011, by Baey Yam Keng, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC.
