Application Requirements

The Raffles American School Admission Process:-

  • How to Apply
  • Step 1 - Visit the School and Admissions Office
  • RAS welcome the opportunity to discuss their mission, their curriculum, and their admissions process with parents/guardian. The school encourage parents to visit them, meet their Head of School and Director, and connect with the Admissions Office. By phone or mail parents can contact the school. With a prior appointment the school can best serve the parents, but an open door policy they also maintain. If the parents cannot visit the school in person, then they request them to explore their website. Via Line they are also able to connect.
  • Step 2 - Fulfill Application Requirements
  • Forms
  • 1. A completed Application Form.
  • 2. A completed Admission Requirement Checklist Form.
  • 3. A completed Authorization to Release School Records Form.
  • 4. A submitted Informed Consent (submitted to prior school).
  • In two ways you may complete RAS admission forms:
  • 1. Fill out our online form here.
  • 2. Complete a hard copy application form, from RAS Admissions available by request, and with remaining application requirements, via mail, email, or in person, submit to RAS.
  • Photos of applicant
  • Two (2) photographs of the applicant (passport size).
  • Photocopies
  • Of the applicant’s passport a photocopy, or ID card if Thai National, showing the passport number and date of birth.
  • Academic Records
  • Up to three (3) years of most recent school records (if the student is old enough to possess them), showing courses taken and results.
  • From non-English speaking schools the school records must be officially translated into English.
  • Standardized achievement tests and/or psychological-educational evaluations.
  • At the time of application complete disclosure of these documents can result in academic confidence, appropriate grade placement, and, ultimately, success at RAS.
  • By the applicant's current school a Confidential Recommendation completed.
  • Step 3 - Admissions Evaluation & Screening/Interview
  • As soon as RAS Admissions has received all necessary documents, as outlined in Step 2 above the applications will be processed. For initial evaluation the expected process time is 5 working days. If additional evaluation or diagnosis is required, these times may be extended. Once a completed application the RAS Admissions evaluates, to make "Screening/Interview" arrangements, a staff member will contact the applicant etc.
  • Step 4 - Notification of Application Status
  • Offer of Admissions
  • All Admissions criteria once your child meets a formal Offer of Admissions, in writing, via email will be communicated. By a tuition invoice your Offer of Admissions will be followed that outlines all associated costs of enrollment and from the Head of the school a welcome letter. The remaining steps leading up to enrollment the Head of School letter will outline etc.
  • Wait Pool
  • The applicant will be placed on the waiting list for that particular school year, if he/she meets admissions requirements but for enrollment in a grade level applying or program that is full. The parents are notified if a place becomes available and receive an offer of admissions (please see previous section). If it is determined that during the requested school year space will not be available, in writing the parents are notified. If for the following year a candidate is interested in applying, by Admissions the roll over application requirements will be determined and in writing communicated to parents.
  • Deny
  • When there are concerns about academic, social or emotional abilities, an applicant may be denied admission, and also when with the grade level of application the English language proficiency is not commensurate, or to adequately meet an individual student’s learning needs when RAS is unable to offer a program.
  • Further Evaluation Required
  • If it is determined that to make a firm accept/deny decision there is insufficient evidence, from the Admissions Office you will receive written notification outlining the additional information required as well as for the process an expected timeline. With faculty or administration this may involve additional interviews or screening, or with the student’s current school contact.
