Application Requirements

The Ruapotaka School Enrolment Scheme:-

HOME ZONE:

Within the home zone, all students who live shall be entitled to enroll at the school.

Within the home zone proof of residence will be required.

Each year, enrolment applications in the following year from in-zone students by date will be sought which will be published in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. Assess the number of places that will enable the board to students can be made available who live outside the home zone etc.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS:

At this school, this priority category is not applicable because the school does not run a Special program approved by the Secretary.

OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS:

Each year the number of places the board will determine which in the following year are likely to be available for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. By notice the board will publish this information in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. How applications are to be made is what the notice will indicate and will specify a date by which all applications must be received.

  • In the following order of priority the applications for enrolment will be processed:
  • 1. First priority At this school this priority category is not applicable because the school does not run a Special program approved by the Secretary.
  • 2. To applicants who are siblings of current students the Second priority will be given.
  • 3. To applicants who are siblings of former students the Third priority will be given.
  • 4. To any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school the Fourth priority will be given.
  • 5. To any applicant who is either a child of a member of the board of the school or a child of an employee of the board of the school the Fifth priority will be given.
  • 6. To all other applicants the Sixth priority will be given.
  • In the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups if there are more applicants than there are places available, by a ballot selection within the priority group will be in accordance conducted with instructions issued by the Secretary under Schedule 20 section 4 of the Education and Training Act 2020 (formerly section11G (3) of the Education Act 1989). Of any ballot date the parents will be informed by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
  • The second or third priority status applicants seeking may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
  • Note:- At the Ruapotaka School, to apply for enrolment, kindly download the Enrolment Form available on the school website, print it out fill it in and then either put it in the school letterbox or email to "[email protected]". The school will contact you to confirm they have received and to organize the next step etc.
