Eligibility:

Boys only: Sainik Schools only admit boys.
Age:
For Class VI admission: Students must be between 10 and 11 years old as of July 1st of the admission year.
For Class IX admission: Students must be between 13 and 14 years old as of July 1st of the admission year and currently studying in Class VIII in a recognized school.
Entrance Exam: All applicants must appear for the Sainik School Entrance Examination.
Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit as per the prescribed standards.
Application Process:

Prospectus: The prospectus containing the application form can be obtained from the school office for Rs. 400 (General/Defence) or Rs. 250 (SC/ST). Alternatively, it can be sent by post with an additional Rs. 50 for postage charges.
Submission: Applications are accepted by post or in person. Applications sent in bulk will be rejected.
Deadline: The application deadline is typically in December of the previous year for the upcoming academic session. It's recommended to check the official website or contact the school for the most up-to-date deadlines.

For Defence Personnel and Ex-Servicemen:
Serving personnel: Certificate from Commanding Officer with details of service.
Ex-Servicemen: Attested copy of Discharge Certificate countersigned by Secretary Rajya Sainik Board.
