In 1923, Dr. Max and Dr. managed a small, controllable school community in Gandersheim. Established by Gertrud Bondy, the school became one of the most audacious educational endeavors of its era when it was eventually relocated to the Marienau estate in 1929. The emergence of National Socialism in Germany and the ensuing prejudice, from which the Bondy family could only escape by moving, put a stop to the Bondys' prosperous story.
