School History & Details

Following World War I, in 1919, South Australian Presbyterian Church elders and donors pooled their resources to build a new school as a memorial to the "Sons of Scotland" who had died in the conflict. The knowledge, humanity, and religion motto of the institution that would become Scotch College provided a strong basis. In 1922, it was incorporated by a parliamentary act. Since its founding, Scotch has led the way in innovative teaching, fostering a strong sense of community and ferocious loyalty among students, parents, and teachers both within and outside of the classroom.
