School History & Details

Serangoon Secondary School started its operation in 1928. It is a government co-educational school located in Singapore. The school also served as a Feeder school to Raffel Institution. The school added three more standards in the year 1937 and Provided education up to standard eight. The students who successfully graduated from standard eight went to the Raffles Institution where they were given a school certificate of examination which is equivalent to the O-level examinations today. In nineteen forty-nine the school started its first school certificate class providing education from primary to Cambridge School certificate.  After a few years, the school officially became a secondary school after seizing primary school classes that year. In 2001, the school moved to its present premises and continues to provide students-centric education.
