In 2009, Seven Oaks School was founded in Opawa, taking its name from the leased former CPIT (now Ara Institute) horticultural site. Pioneered by educators Janet Nicol, Ross Petersen, and Macpac founder Bruce McIntyre, the school aimed to provide a holistic education, empowering children with socially, emotionally, and environmentally rich experiences to navigate the rapidly changing world.
